B.J. Pupillo is an Associate Attorney at Combs Waterkotte, where he represents clients facing criminal charges ranging from DWI/DUI offenses to serious felonies. An accomplished trial attorney with experience in both state and federal court, B.J. brings extensive courtroom experience and an understanding of both prosecution and defense work to evaluating evidence, challenging the State’s case, and preparing a thorough defense.
Prior to joining Combs Waterkotte, B.J. operated his own successful practice, The Pupillo Law Firm, for 16 years. During that time, he built a record of success as a trial attorney, defending clients against criminal charges and guiding them through some of the most difficult circumstances of their lives. His experience has reinforced the importance of careful investigation, strategic preparation, and being ready to take a case to trial.
B.J. earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Louis University. During law school, he gained courtroom experience with the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Missouri State Public Defender System through Rule 13 certification. His achievements in trial and appellate advocacy earned him membership in the Order of the Barristers.
B.J. is a member of the National College for DUI Defense and the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He approaches each case with a commitment to protecting his client’s rights, explaining the available options, and developing a defense tailored to the evidence and the client’s goals.
Outside the courtroom, B.J. is committed to community involvement and volunteers his time to charitable organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors for Sunnyhill, Inc., a nonprofit that provides services, programs, and opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
