Scott Michael Dunn: What enhancements apply in Illinois sex crime cases?
Joshua Boardman: There’s a number of them. One of which that is very frequent was their utilization of a firearm. Did the alleged incident take place with a victim that is considered a special victim? For example, were they disabled? Were they over the age of 60? Was there bodily injury that occurred as a result of the incident? All of those facts can be utilized by state’s attorneys to try to enhance or file enhanced or aggravated charged.
