Scott Michael Dunn: Can I get a hardship license after a DUI in Illinois?

Joshua Boardman: You can. You have to petition for that or fill out a hardship application for a permit and they’ll evaluate, when I say they, the Secretary of State, their panels will evaluate the need for that hardship. Are you a single parent that is solely responsible for driving children to school? Things like that. Are you taking care of a loved one? Are you the primary breadwinner in your family? Are there health concerns or circumstances like that? And so you’re able to essentially go argue your case or request based on those types of reasons why during a period of suspension or revocation you should still have driving privileges.
