Scott Michael Dunn: Can deleted messages be recovered in a sex crime case?
Joshua Boardman: What I’ve seen previously is as there’s an investigation into allegations and that can be from the side of law enforcement or could be from the side of perhaps one of our potential clients in a self-preservation type of action or in an alibi or whatever they’re trying to assert in defense, they can either request their own cell phone records or we can send out subpoenas, things like that.
Christopher Combs: And I’ve had cases where I’ve had clients get scared, delete messages, and we hire a computer forensic expert to do whatever they can to try to recover those because sometimes they can be helpful to our case. So, definitely there are times when they’re recoverable, but a lot of times they’re not.
