Scott Michael Dunn: When does a DUI carry mandatory jail time in Illinois?

Joshua Boardman: Whenever you start getting to your second, third, fourth DUIs. Repeat offenses, the penalties increase each time. So, a second-time DUI is still a misdemeanor, but there’s a 5-day mandatory term of jail time unless you’re able to successfully argue for community service. Obviously, the more you get, then it goes into a felony perspective and the requirements become much more tedious.
