Scott Michael Dunn: What happens if I miss a DUI court date in Illinois?
Joshua Boardman: The answer to that is it depends on your judge. It depends on your reason and it depends on your background. Some judges will just issue another summons and give you an opportunity to come back to court on a future date without issuing a warrant. Some have a pretty tight leash and will issue a warrant if you don’t show up to your first court appearance or a court appearance after that. That can be dependent on was there an emergency or was there some reasonable reason of why you did not participate in it. But, if you don’t show up, you run the risk of a warrant being issued.
