Interview Transcript

Scott Michael Dunn: Let’s talk about digital sex crimes, internet related offenses. Is sexting illegal in Illinois?

Joshua Boardman: In and of itself, it is not illegal. The things that make it illegal are you disseminating pornographic images of children? Are you having pornographic or sexually motivated conversations with minors? Are you disseminating pornographic or sexual content of another adult without consent? So, sexting by itself may not be considered a crime, but there are certainly crimes that can arise out of those types of conversations.
