Scott Michael Dunn: What is the legal BAC limit for CDL drivers in Illinois?
Joshua Boardman: The legal limit for CDL drivers specifically is reduced down to .04 instead of .08. And the reason why, or the public policy reasoning put into place by legislators, is that you are operating these commercial vehicles, oftentimes much larger vehicles, much more difficult to operate, and so they want to hold those folks that have achieved licensing to operate those vehicles to a higher standard and hold them more accountable.
