Combs Waterkotte represented a Florissant woman on one count of endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree. The court initially set bond of $20,000, cash only with 10% not authorized. We immediately secured a personal recognizance bond for our client. The state alleged that our client knew her husband was sodomizing their children and failed to alter law enforcement. After many discussions with the prosecuting attorney, we obtained a favorable plea offer in which our client’s charge would be reduced to misdemeanor child endangerment, SIS 2 years probation in exchange for our client to cooperate with the state in prosecution of her husband. Once our client successfully completes her probation, she will not have a conviction on her record.
