Touching a child under 14 in a sexual way is a serious crime.
This law says it’s illegal to have any kind of sexual contact with a child younger than 14. If force is used, the punishment is even more serious.
1. A person commits third-degree child molestation if they touch a child under 14 in a sexual way.
2. This sex crime is a class C felony, but becomes a class B felony if the person uses force or threats (forcible compulsion).
