Scott Michael Dunn: Let’s talk about child sex allegations and DCFS investigations. What happens when DCFS investigates sex abuse allegations of any sort in Illinois?
Joshua Boardman: Certainly. So, DCFS or child protective services investigations are often the catalyst for criminal charges coming later. And the reason why is because minors will say things or demonstrate things or behaviors or report things to individuals that would otherwise be considered mandated reporters who will then get in contact with these agencies and these agencies can do their own investigations, they can turn their investigations over to law enforcement or state’s attorneys offices. So, oftentimes through mandated reports going through those types of agencies, that is the first domino.
