Scott Michael Dunn: What happens if my DUI involved an accident in Chicago?
Joshua Boardman: Well, there’s different views on that. One view is did you cause an accident only? Was there just property damage or did you cause an accident based on let’s call it your impaired driving or driving under the influence that actually caused physical injury to someone else? Then did it cause death? And so the accident, the nature of the accident and the results of that accident can escalate it from a misdemeanor charge to various felonies based on what occurred in them.
