720 ILCS 5/24-3.6 – Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the Shape of a Wireless Telephone

This law makes it illegal to have a gun that looks like a cell phone.

This Illinois law says that people cannot make, sell, buy, or carry a gun that is shaped like a cell phone, except for police officers. Breaking this law is a Class 4 felony.

(a) The term “wireless telephone” means a phone or device that can send or receive calls without being connected by a wire.

(b) Someone breaks this law if they make, sell, give, buy, own, or carry a gun that is made to look like a cell phone.

(c) This rule does not apply to police officers who have or use a gun shaped like a cell phone as part of their job.

(d) Sentence: If someone is found guilty of having a gun shaped like a cell phone, it is a Class 4 felony.
