566.210. Sexual trafficking of a child, first degree, penalty.

It’s a serious crime to exploit a child under 12 for sex or porn.

This law punishes anyone who uses, sells, advertises, or profits from sexual acts involving children under twelve years old.

1. A person commits first-degree sexual trafficking of a child if they knowingly do any of the following with a child under 12:

  • Recruit, lure, transport, or hold them for sex work, porn, or sexual performances — including by force, fraud, or threats;
  • Cause them to engage in sex acts, sexual performances, or be used in porn;
  • Advertise them for any of the above.

2. It is not a defense to say the person thought the child was 12 or older.

3. This crime is punished by life in prison, with no chance of probation or parole until the offender has served at least 25 years. If the victim was under 12 years old, the sentence is life without the possibility of parole.
