Causing someone’s death by giving them drugs is a Class A felony
This law says it’s a very serious crime to give or sell drugs that are mixed with other substances if someone dies after using them.
1. You commit this offense if you knowingly give or sell a drug that is mixed with another drug, and someone dies from using it.
2. It doesn’t matter if the person who died chose to use the drug or agreed to have it given to them—this is still a crime.
3. This offense is a Class A felony, the most serious level of felony under Missouri law.
4. A “controlled substance” in this law means any drug listed in Schedule I or Schedule II under Missouri’s drug laws.
