574.040. Unlawful assembly — penalty.

It’s a crime to gather with a group planning to break the law using force.

This law makes it illegal to meet up with six or more people and agree to commit a crime that involves force or violence, whether under Missouri or federal law.

1. A person commits unlawful assembly if they knowingly:

  • Assemble with six or more people; and
  • Agree to break the law using force or violence.

2. Unlawful assembly is a class B misdemeanor.
