572.040. Promoting gambling in the second degree — penalty
Helping with illegal gambling in any way is a misdemeanor
If someone helps run or makes money from illegal gambling or lottery activities, even on a small scale, they can be charged with a misdemeanor.
1. A person commits the offense of promoting gambling in the second degree if he or she knowingly advances or profits from unlawful gambling or lottery activity.
2. Promoting gambling in the second degree is a class A misdemeanor.
