Breaking into a building to commit a crime
Second-degree burglary means entering or staying in a building without permission in order to commit a crime.
1. A person commits second-degree burglary if they knowingly enter or stay in a building or inhabitable structure illegally to commit a crime.
2. Second-degree burglary is a class D felony.
