566.101. Sexual abuse, second degree, penalties.
Touching someone sexually without their consent is a crime.
This law says it’s illegal to touch someone in a sexual way if they didn’t agree to it.
1. A person commits second-degree sexual abuse by purposely having sexual contact (touching someone’s private parts for sexual purposes, either directly or through clothing) with someone who did not give consent.
2. This offense is usually a class A misdemeanor, but it becomes a class E felony if it’s considered an aggravated sexual offense.
