559.633. Court to order participation in program, when — fees determined by department of corrections — supplemental fee to be deposited in correctional substance abuse earnings fund.

Felony drug offenders on probation must attend a treatment program and pay fees

If you’re convicted of a drug-related felony and get probation, you usually must start a treatment program within 60 days. You’ll also pay fees that help fund rehab programs.

1. If you’re found guilty of a felony drug crime under chapter 195 or 579—and you’re allowed to get probation—the judge must order you to start a drug education and treatment program within 60 days of starting probation. If you’re getting probation after serving prison time under section 559.115, you don’t have to do the program.

2. You’ll have to pay for the education and treatment program. The Missouri Department of Corrections decides how much. On top of the program cost, you’ll also pay a $60 extra fee. The group running the program keeps a small portion for admin costs and sends the rest to the Department of Corrections, which puts it into a special fund for substance abuse programs.
