720 ILCS 685/4(d) – Illegal Use of an ID Card to Obtain Tobacco Accessories or Smoking Herbs (by a Minor)
This law says it’s illegal to use or change someone’s ID to buy smoking products.
This Illinois law makes it a crime for anyone to use a fake ID card, use someone else’s ID card, or change an ID card to get tobacco accessories or smoking herbs. Doing this on purpose is considered a Class C misdemeanor, which means it’s against the law but is a lower-level crime.
(d) No one is allowed to use or show a fake ID, or give, change, or damage an ID card in order to get smoking accessories or smoking herbs.
Sec. 5. Penalty.
(a) Sentence: Anyone who knowingly breaks this rule or helps someone else break it is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor.
