720 ILCS 685/4(a) – Illegal Sale Of Tobacco Accessories Or Smoking Herbs To A Person Under 21

This law makes it illegal to sell or give tobacco products or smoking herbs to anyone under 21 years old in Illinois.

This statute says that it is against the law for anyone to knowingly sell, trade, give, or deliver tobacco-related products or smoking herbs to a person younger than 21. If someone breaks this law, they can be charged with a Class C misdemeanor, which means a minor crime that still brings legal consequences.

(a) No person may knowingly sell, trade, give, or deliver tobacco accessories or smoking herbs to anyone under 21 years old. It is also illegal to help or allow these items to be sold, traded, or given to someone under 21.

Sec. 5. Penalty.

(a) Sentence: Anyone who knowingly breaks this law, or helps someone else break it, is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor.
