720 ILCS 670/1 – Sale of Immoral Publications to Children (Prohibited)
This law makes it illegal to give or sell crime-filled or violent printed materials to kids.
This Illinois law says that no one is allowed to sell, lend, give, or show books, magazines, or other printed materials with lots of crime or violent stories to minors. The goal is to protect children from reading or seeing harmful content.
Sec. 1. It is against the law for a person to sell, lend, give, or show – or even plan to sell, give, or show – any book, magazine, newspaper, or other printed item to a child under 18 if that item mainly includes news about crimes, police reports, or stories and pictures about sex, violence, or crime.
Sec. 3. Sentence: Breaking this law is a Class B misdeamenor.
