720 ILCS 642/5(c) – Use of a False ID by a Minor to Obtain Kratom
This law says that minors cannot buy or possess kratom, and they can’t use fake IDs to get it.
This Illinois law makes it illegal for anyone under 18 to have or try to buy kratom. It also says minors cannot use or change fake IDs to get kratom, and breaking this law can lead to a misdemeanor charge or fine.
(a) “Kratom” means any part of the Mitragyna speciosa plant (whether it’s growing or not), and anything made from it like powders, compounds, or products that include its main chemicals, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.
(c) A person under 18 years old cannot knowingly use, show, or make a fake ID, or change or damage an ID, to try to get a product containing kratom.
(e) Sentence: Someone who breaks part (c) of this law commits a Class B misdemeanor.
