720 ILCS 5/32-9 – Tampering With Public Notice
This law makes it illegal to mess with or take down a public notice that’s supposed to stay posted for a certain time.
This Illinois law says a person can get in trouble if they knowingly damage, change, hide, or remove a public notice without permission while it’s still meant to be posted.
(a) A person breaks this law if they knowingly and without permission change, ruin, draw on, take away, or hide any public notice that was posted by law and meant to stay up for a set amount of time.
(b) Sentence: Breaking this law is a petty offense, which means it is a minor crime with a small punishment, like a fine.
