720 ILCS 5/28-2 Definitions
This section explains certain words and phrases as they pertain to this chapter.
(a) “Gambling device” means machines that take money (or other valuables), and allow people to bet with it.
(a-5) “Internet” means a computer service that allows people to access a computer server or World Wide Web page.
(a-6) “Access” means to interact with a computer, network, or the data on it.
(a-7) “Computer” means a machine that processes data, including connected devices.
(b) “Lottery” means a process in which some people pay into, which then randomly distributes prizes.
(c) “Policy game” means a process in which one person makes a promise that they will fulfill if a lottery turns out a certain way.
