720 ILCS 150/2 – Exploitation of a Child by Other Custodians (Receiving or Employing a Child for Illegal Purposes)
This law makes it illegal to take or use a child under 14 for dangerous, harmful, or immoral activities.
This statute says that it’s against the law for anyone (not just the parents or guardians) to take, hire, or use a child under 14 years old for work or acts that are unsafe, harmful, or immoral, such as begging, dangerous stunts, or indecent shows.
Section 2. It is illegal for any person to take, receive, hire, employ, use, exhibit, or have in their care or custody any child under the age of fourteen years for any of the same harmful purposes described in Section 1 of this law. These include making the child perform acts like begging, dancing, acrobatics, or participating in any work or show that is unsafe, immoral, or bad for the child’s health.
