720 ILCS 5/21-6 – Unauthorized Possession or Storage of Weapons on Government-Supported Property

This law says you cannot have or keep certain weapons on property that gets public money unless you have written permission.

This law makes it illegal to bring or store weapons on land or in buildings paid for with public funds, unless you get written permission first. If you break this rule, it’s a Class A misdemeanor.

(a) Anyone who has or stores weapons listed in another law on government-supported land or in buildings on that land without written permission from the chief security officer is breaking the law. Sentence: This crime is a Class A misdemeanor.

(b) The chief security officer must approve any reasonable request for written permission mentioned in part (a).
