720 ILCS 5/21-11: Distributing Or Delivering Written Or Printed Solicitation On School Property

This law makes it illegal to hand out or deliver printed materials near schools that invite students to illegal events.

This law says people cannot give out flyers or papers near schools if they are trying to get students to attend illegal events or gatherings in unsafe places like abandoned buildings.

(a) It is against the law to hand out or deliver any written or printed invitation or advertisement on school property or within 1,000 feet of school property if the invitation is meant to get students to attend an event where illegal acts will happen, or to invite people to commit illegal acts. It also includes events in or around abandoned buildings.

(b) “School property” means the buildings or grounds of any public or private elementary or high school.

(c) Sentence: Breaking this law is a Class C misdemeanor.
