565.090. Harassment, first degree, penalty.
It’s a felony to seriously upset someone on purpose without a good reason.
This law makes it a crime to do something that causes someone emotional distress if you did it on purpose and without a good reason.
1. A person commits first-degree harassment if they intentionally do something meant to upset or emotionally harm another person—and it actually causes that distress—and they didn’t have a valid reason.
2. This offense is a class E felony.
3. This law doesn’t apply to law enforcement officers doing official investigations.
