Kaylin Searcy is a law clerk at Combs Waterkotte, where she supports the firm’s mission of zealous advocacy and client-centered representation. With a meticulous approach to legal research, case analysis, and drafting, Kaylin plays an integral role in preparing strategic defenses across a wide range of criminal matters. Known for her attention to detail and strong work ethic, she is passionate about protecting constitutional rights and ensuring every client’s voice is heard throughout the legal process.
Kaylin earned her bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Colorado Mesa University in western Colorado. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with the Mesa County Public Defender’s Office, where she discovered her passion for criminal law and trial advocacy. She is currently pursuing her law degree at Saint Louis University School of Law, with the goal of becoming a criminal defense attorney.
Her professional experience includes internships with the Mesa County Public Defender’s Office, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office, and Kragnes & Associates, a criminal defense firm in Des Moines, Iowa. These roles have given her valuable perspective on both prosecution and defense, deepening her understanding of case strategy, evidentiary issues, and courtroom dynamics.
Outside of the office, Kaylin enjoys hiking, spending time with friends, and exploring new adventures with her dog, Jax. Her passion for justice and dedication to detail make her an essential member of the Combs Waterkotte team.
