579.086. Unlawful delivery of a controlled substance by manufacturer or distributor — penalty.

Drug makers and sellers can’t deliver meds if they think they’ll be misused.

If a manufacturer or distributor gives out a controlled substance knowing it might be used illegally, that’s a crime.

1. It’s illegal for a manufacturer, distributor, or their employee to deliver a controlled substance if they act recklessly—meaning they ignore obvious signs—that it will be used in a way that breaks the law.

2. This offense is a class E felony.
