573.060. Public display of explicit sexual material — penalties.

It’s illegal to show explicit sexual content in public where others can see it.

This law makes it a crime to openly display graphic sexual content where people — including children — might see it from public places. It also applies if someone knows about such a display on their property and doesn’t take it down.

1. A person commits public display of explicit sexual material if they recklessly:

  • (1) Show or display explicit sexual material in a place where it can easily be seen by people from a street, sidewalk, highway, someone else’s property, or inside a store that sells other regular items;
  • (2) Know about such a display on their property and don’t remove it quickly.
