571.017. Imposition of sentences for both armed criminal action and crime committed with deadly weapon authorized

You can be sentenced for both using a weapon and the crime itself

If someone commits a crime using a deadly weapon, they can be punished for both the crime and for using the weapon—unless another law specifically says otherwise.

1. Even if another law says otherwise (except for what’s stated in subsection 4 of section 571.015), a person can still be punished for both armed criminal action and the crime they committed using a weapon or dangerous object.
