566.155. Certain offenders not to serve as athletic coaches, managers, or trainers — violation, penalty.

Sex offenders can’t coach or supervise kids in sports or jobs

In Missouri, people convicted of certain sex crimes are not allowed to coach, manage, or train youth sports teams—or supervise or hire kids under 18.

1. Anyone found guilty of serious crimes like incest, child pornography, child sexual exploitation, or child endangerment (including similar crimes from other states) cannot:

  • Coach, manage, or train any sports team that includes kids under 17
  • Supervise or employ anyone under 18

2. A first violation is a class E felony.

3. A second or later violation is a more serious class D felony.
